Location, Location, Location... can you meet us at...?
From time to time, clients inquire about booking a session at a location that is outside of my typical location staples. In many cases, it may be possible for me to meet you at a location of your choice for a custom session. It is important to note, though, that there may be regulations or permit restrictions that could potentially impact the time and date of our session. There are several amazing locations in the area that require the purchase of a permit in advance. Some locations only allow a certain number of permits to be sold per day in order to ensure that the areas don't get too congested. Please note that the purchase of a permit is an additional cost for a mini or full session, if one is required for a specified location. Also, please note that, for certain places, other fees may apply such as entrance fees or parking.
What should we wear?
Oh, I feel you on this one! When it is my turn to be on the other side of the camera, I sure do stress about finding outfits for my family. It is often just recommended that everyone feels as comfortable as possible in their outfits for the session. Our weather here in Illinois can be tricky... one day, it can be a frigid 35 degrees and the next it can be 60 with sun. Please feel free to adjust your clothing for the weather to keep you warm or cool. This could mean layers, if needed, or even me grabbing one of my blankets for cuddling pictures if it's colder than expected the day of your pics. Typically, the more comfy everyone feels, the more smiles we see. :)
Please don't be afraid to blend colors or patterns. One of the only colors that I typically do NOT recommend is bright red. There are many Pinterest boards that help showcase which colors blend together. I have some of those pinned if you'd like to zoom up to the Pinterest icon.
When i receive my gallery, can i print my pics anywhere?
You will receive a print release with your gallery. When you receive your gallery link, you will be able to download your entire gallery all at once or download images one at a time. Once you've downloaded and are ready to print, you can send the pictures to any printing services of your choice. I do have a couple that I recommend... and one that I am not the biggest fan of. I'll be happy to share those with you! The technology in our lives make it so easy to download and store pictures... but many of us do not get around to printing them out. The printing services I'd recommend offer a variety of sizes, papers, quality, and items that you can customize for your printing order.
What is the turnaround time for receiving my gallery?
This is a great question, and the answer varies based on the time of year. In most cases, your gallery link will be emailed to you within two weeks of our session date. In the fall -- the busiest time of year -- the turnaround time can be closer to three to four weeks, especially if the weather is mild for most of September, October, and the start of November. I edit my sessions in the order they were taken. If you may need your gallery before a certain date for an event, to make an invitation, or to create cards, please feel free to an email to double-check the current turnaround. I do my very best to get the sessions back within the projected time, but I edit each image in your gallery by hand.
can i share my photos on social media?
You sure can! It makes me so happy when clients get to share their images with friends and family! I only ask that you please mention or tag Clover Photos because you spreading the word will certainly help my small business continue to bloom and grow. Pretty please, do not add filters to the images before you share as they have already been edited carefully. Thank you in advance for sharing!
For most sessions, I post "sneak peeks" for clients as I work on their galleries. If they have social media, I typically tag the clients in the sneaks. There are instances where I do not post sneaks because I know that the clients are surprising their families, making a card or invite, revealing something special, or using the photos for a gift. Those images may then be posted or featured on my website at a later date.
