Dear Clover Clients, friends and family,

Happy February 29th!  Leap Year is all the buzz today and it had me thinking, “How is it possibly February 29th already?”  At first, the fact that 2016 is passing by so quickly took the wind out of me… but then I realized with glee that tomorrow is March 1st!!  ((Clap, clap!!))  YEAH!  March is my favorite month of the entire year.  Is my birthday in March?  Nope.  Were my kiddos born in March so we have birthday shindigs for them soon?  Nope again.  Spring break soon?  No, not quite yet…  Ten year wedding anniversary in March?  <<Insert buzzer sound here>> Nopeeeee.  The reason March is my favorite is because right smack in the middle of this fabulous month is my favorite holiday!!!  Hooray, hooray!

For as long as I can remember, St. Patrick’s Day has been synonymous for me with spending time with many of my friends and family members at parades and celebrations.  Long before I was of age, I feel in love with the seas of green – which coincidentally is one of my least favorite colors – and the sheer happiness that overflows that day.  Each year, my… ahem… obsession with this holiday has manifested into leprechaun shenanigans in my classroom, my home, via snail mail, a year-round countdown, and an insanely large quantity of decorations to rival only my hefty Christmas spread.  I love everything about St. Patrick’s Day, from the belief in magical green people to the shamrocks to the green drinks served in the back of my favorite hangouts.  It’s the day I allow myself to gorge on Lucky Charms, eat random slices of pizza in the street, have a neck ache from my 200 buttons and flashing necklaces, and can rock my bright green Pumas.  Love.  Love.  Love.

This love has also spilled over into the name for Clover Photos.  My last name doesn’t roll off tongues easily or rhyme with anything fun that would satisfy my need for cuteness at times.  🙂  So, instead of rocking out my name for my photos, I was drawn to something that would always be connected to one of my favorite days.  Taking photos + Clovers = Love x 2.

Happy New Year from Clover Photos!

I cannot wait to see what wonderful things 2016 brings!

Hellooooo… can you hear me?  (Oh boy, too much Adele for me!)  Soooooo when I started my site a couple of months ago, I vowed that I would post at least one blog post every month.  Initially, I thought a blog a week sounded good… but I then I quickly realized that that was a lofty goal for the moment.  🙂  You know, laundry, holiday parties, Starbucks red cups, wrapping, school paperwork, meetings, and a tad too much HGTV all kind of get in the way of sitting down to write a blog from time to time…  Wellppp, November and most of December have passed us by since I last greeted you here.  Perhaps, if I put it in writing, you can help hold me to the minimum of a monthly blog?  🙂

So many wonderful things have happened in the last few weeks!  I’ve had the opportunity to do tons of holiday sessions as families prepared for their Christmas cards.  Along with my Christmas-y shoots, I held a session for an upcoming Quinceanera with the most loving family.  It was also such a privilege to do a maternity session for two awesome friends that recently welcomed their little boy, who is seriously the CUTEST.  I kept many, many of the pics from my recent sessions “under wraps” so that my clients’ friends and families would be surprised when their cards and gifts arrive.  Over the next day or so, I will begin to post some of my favorites from each of those sessions.

Around this time of year, I tend to find that I am extra reflective and a bit more sentimental.  There’s always been something about twinkling lights and the bustle of preparing for Christmas that makes me feel a true need to share how grateful I am for those I love.  I am in awe of the amazing families I have had the opportunity to photograph this year as I started Clover Photos.  It has been a true joy to spend time with each and every one of you!!  It is an honor to have the chance to capture moments that will forever be paused in time for your families and friends to cherish.  I can’t wait to see what we capture next!

P.S.  Is “Hello” stuck in your head now, too?

Hello friends!  I cannot believe it’s already the tenth of October…  The season is in full effect and I love every second of it!  Both times that we lived far, far away from Illinois, the number one thing I missed in regards to seasons/weather was the colors of the leaves.  I also am quite fond of the crunch, crunch song that the leaves play under your feet in late fall ((right before the dreaded s n o w – ugh!))  Fall, I just love you!

I wanted to write a quick post today to send huge THANKS to everyone who has booked a fall session!  Never could I have imagined that I would have so many shoots booked, and I can’t thank you enough!  Thank you to the friends and family who have helped me spread the word about Clover Photos AND to all of you who have provided me with the wonderful opportunity to hold a session with your family!  It sometimes feels like I am dreaming lately because I’m having so much fun.

It is my sincere hope that you love love love the photos you’ve found featured here on my site, as well as those posted to FB and Instagram.  Please follow me there if you aren’t already.  🙂

Well hello again, world!  This post is full of heartfelt thanks for the incredible kindness and support so many friends have shown me along the road to starting Clover Photos!  Without your amazing love and encouragement, I wouldn’t be typing this post.  There are no words to express how much I have enjoyed seeing your face and hearing the excitement in your voice when you have loved a pic that I was lucky to get to take!!
